Magnus Lindén works as a Senior Consultant at Sweco’s Energy Markets group and has more than 19 years of extensive experience of the liberalised Nordic electricity market. Before joining Sweco, Magnus was a partner at EME Analys. His areas of expertise include advising larger electricity customers on their electricity procurement strategy, regulation surrounding metering and settlement, energy statistics, market design and renewable energy issues. Magnus has taken part in several studies commissioned by different stakeholders including regulators, the Swedish government and private commercial companies. During the past years and because of Europe’s challenging targets for decarbonisation of its economy, Magnus has increasingly focused on demand response, mainly the business model (tariffs/rates) and energy storage issues. Magnus has looked at storage, both in urban environments as well as in areas that are not reached by the public electricity network. He is also working with simulation of business case models on how to optimize the electricity system to better integrate electricity generation from renewable energy sources by taking advantage of new technology and knowledge gained during large-scale smart metering rollouts and projects regarding smart metering. Magnus is part of Sweco Sweden’s smart city group.
